Evaluation of the Usefulness of Cardiac Marker Analysis for Postmortem Diagnosis of Acute Myocardial Infarction

Acute myocardial infarction is one of the main causes unusual death. However, diagnosing acute based on post-mortem examination may be difficult; notably, it cannot diagnosed inspection. In this study, we aimed to investigate usefulness cardiac marker analysis in diagnosis and review possibility its application inspections. This study included 69 autopsy cases, including 29 cases which interval was ≤24 hours, performed at National Forensic Service Seoul Institute from July November 2018. Tests for three markers (myoglobin, creatinine kinase-MB, troponin I) were each case using portable equipment, Triage Meter. The reliability equipment enzyme levels according cause death, factors affecting postmortem test results analyzed. Cardiac concentrations not significantly different between heart disease other groups, Meter found suitable examination. Therefore, can conclude that scene inspection inappropriate.
